Groups (of 8 to 20 guests) are welcome at North Gate during regular business hours. However, on Saturdays we only accept groups of 8 to 12 guests at 11:30 am and 1:30 pm. Reservations are required at least two days in advance by phone or by email (email@example.com). Please call to discuss larger group reservations of over 20 guests.
Groups are required to make a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the group tasting fee. The balance of your group tasting fees will be collected upon your arrival. To speed your check in, please have one payment for your entire group in the form of a single credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover), cash, or check.
When making your reservation, you will be asked to supply the name of one contact person who will be responsible for your group. This person will agree to:
- Be the single point of contact for your group both before and on the day of your visit.
- Ensure each member of your group has a valid Driver’s License or ID with them for age verification.
- Ensure no other alcohol is consumed on our property while visiting. In accordance with the Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control, no alcohol other than North Gate Vineyard wine may be consumed anywhere on our property.
- Remind your group that smoking and vaping is not permitted anywhere on our property due to our LEED certification and pledge to be a smoke-free environment, both inside our building and on our entire site.
Group tastings are usually held in the winery, and consist of the same wine list that is available at our tasting bar. Your knowledgeable server(s) will be able to answer questions about our wines, our winery, our history, our building, and our Green Initiatives and LEED Certification.
A Light Fare menu is available for your enjoyment after your formal tasting, and includes items such as various cheeses, cured meats and baguettes. You are welcome to bring your own snacks to enjoy after your tasting, and we can also suggest local caterers that can deliver box lunches to North Gate for your group. Food is not permitted in the winery production area.
